Proposal Summary
Explain the purpose for this proposal:
The purpose of this proposal is to create a new elective in Sport Administration. Students have requested electives in Sport
Administration and this course was developed to meet this student demand. This course has been successfully offered as a
special topics course. Learning Outcomes: Apply course knowledge to sociological issues in sport (apply) Analyze film
portrayal of sociological issues of significance (analyze) Evaluate validity of issues presented in the films (evaluate)
Synthesize film and real life examples of the sociological issues (synthesize) Understand a variety of sociological
phenomenon (knowledge) In-class Activities that Support Outcomes: Film reviews and discussions (knowledge, apply,
