Proposal Summary
Explain the purpose for this proposal:
The purpose of this proposal is to revise the total credit hours from 2 to 3. Changes in social media have brought along
changes in the Sport Industry and have created new job opportunities within the field of Sport. Additional guest speakers
and class discussion are needed to highlight these new career opportunities. Also due to an increase in class size, from the
initial 30 student max to now 60 student max enrollment, more class time is needed for student presentations, group
projects and as previously mentioned guest speakers.
Explain how this proposal affects program requirements and students in your unit:
Due to the increase of credit hours, a program proposal is being submitted that will decrease the number of elective hours
from 9 to 8. This change will not have a negative affect on our students and it will maintain the minimum credits required
for graduation at 121.
Explain how this proposal affects courses, program requirements and student in other units:
This change does not affect any other course, program requirements or students in other units.
Explain how this proposal affects enrollment and staffing:
No changes in staffing needed.
Units consulted (other departments, programs or campuses affected by the proposal):
No other units, departments, programs or campuses will be affected by this proposal.
