Cooper Controls Announces the Creation of the Greengate Brand of Energy
Management Products
Peachtree City, Ga., March 17, 2008 – Cooper Controls Ltd., a subsidiary of Cooper Industries,
announces the launch of the new Greengate brand of lighting control products. Greengate was created to
meet the growing demand for occupancy sensors, networked and stand-alone relay panel systems, and
daylighting controls designed for the control and management of lighting energy in today’s commercial
and industrial applications.
While technically new to the market, the Greengate brand immediately enjoys a leadership position from
its roots in established companies with proven products and solutions. The Greengate brand is the
combination of two recent acquisitions, Novitas Inc. Torrence, CA, and PCI Lighting Controls
Burlington, VT, combined together under a common structure and name.

The Greengate brand consists of an impressive array of products built upon unique benefits offering
simplified specification, easy installation, low cost of ownership, best value, and exceptional customer
service. All Greengate lighting control panels and sensors work together without interfaces or
compatibility issues. Lighting control panels from 2-48 circuits work directly with ultrasonic, infrared or
dual-technology sensors that can be ceiling, fixture or wall mounted. Greengate also offers a line of
industry-exclusive learning sensors that automatically adapt to the needs of the space, thus eliminating the
need to manually correct sensitivity.

Thirty-one states currently require products offered by Greengate in non-residential applications, with
more stringent codes and enforcement on the horizon. In addition to energy codes and standards like
ASHRAE and IEEE, Greengate products can contribute to more than 10 points towards a LEED
Certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, www.usgbc.org).
