Hot Dipped Galvanized Products from Cooper Crouse-Hinds Offer
Superior Corrosion Protection from Harsh Environments
Hot Dipped Galvanized Products Ideal for Transportation, Infrastructure and Mass Transit Use
SYRACUSE, NY, January 31, 2012 – Continually looking for ways to offer a broader range of solutions
to our customers, Cooper Crouse-Hinds, a leader in electrical products that provide safety, productivity,
innovation and labor savings in hazardous, industrial and commercial environments, has developed a
complete line of Hot Dipped Galvanized products designed for use with rigid/IMC conduit.
The product offering includes conduit bodies and covers, mogul bodies and covers, conduit straps,
clamps and couplings as well as hubs, XJG & XD expansion & deflection joints, cast boxes and covers,
all hot dipped galvanized. This broad product offering provides corrosion protection against water, road
salt and other harsh environmental conditions making them ideal for transportation, mass transit and
bridge or other infrastructure use. Available on a wide range of products, hot dipped galvanized
solutions from Cooper Crouse-Hinds provide another corrosion resistant option beyond stainless steel
and epoxy coatings.
“All of our hot dipped galvanized products are designed to stand up to the test of time,” said Grant
Gawronski, President, Cooper Crouse-Hinds. “The hot dip galvanized process produces a much thicker,
durable coating which prevents corrosion of the protected product. For our customers, that means
options in choosing a solution the best meets their preferences and specification requirements in
delivering long, dependable service and a reduced need for replacement or general maintenance.”
For maximum strength and durability, each product is passed through a molten bath of zinc at high
temperatures. The result is a metallurgical bond formed between both the zinc and steel with a series of
distinct iron-zinc alloys. The thick, durable coating produced prevents corrosion by forming a physical
barrier on the product. Should that barrier become damaged, the coating acts as a sacrificial anode

A123/A123M, UL514B and NEMA FB1 standards.
