Role and Charter NWCG website:
This is evolving as we speak with the new Wildfire Executive Leadership Council
(WFLC).
Logistics in 2007 was designated as a Task Group…
Logistics in 2008 is a Subcommittee.
Facilitation of information:

Potable Water Standards were adopted in 2007 and implemented.

Provided written recommendations to FEWT (Feb. 4, 2008) on the need to
provide Incident Information Bulletin Boards for IMT’s, yes/no, if so
how?
Provided locally (service/supply plan), or in cache van, or in cache. In
review of all the inputs, it was decided that “this was not an issue and
further consideration is not needed.”
“The Logistics Task Group agrees with the Fire and Aviation Steering
Committee ‘that there may already be sources available for units to obtain
materials direct or the ability to cache their own reuseable equipment
versus developing a kit that would be cached in the national interagency
caches.’ ”

Automated Electronic Defibrillator (AED).and EMT Kits; I selected some
individuals who provided input to the Cache Kit Committee AKA Matt
Cnudde.

National Contract Vendors Request for input from Terry Eller; i.e.
standardized steps for refrigeration units (reefer trailers).

And in 2007, Logistics Task Group recommended Supply Unit Leaders,
Tim Kennedy, Idaho Department of Lands, and Sue Zahn, San Dimas
Technology and Development Center to be on the national Kit committee
and they were selected for that role.

Coordinated with Matt Cnudde on the Incident Sign Kit

Improved coordination with the Cache Managers working with Matt as the
Chair of the Cache Managers.
SME’S: IF you are interested in being one, please contact me directly.
IF not I’ll review the team rosters and come up with my own list of SME’s.
In order for the process to work and hopefully evolve into a more efficient
process, the two way requests have to offer useable recommendations and
hopefully recommended solutions.
Also, if something comes up during the year that you want to share; or have
questions about something - contact anyone on the Logistics committee or send
information to Cherie’ and she is really good about finding one of us for input.
Thank You!

Logistics Sub-Committee Chair
Fire Equipment Working Team
Brent Spencer (NIMO – Boise):
would like to meet with some LSC’s some time during the week to discuss a
project he was assigned at the national IC/AC meeting RELATED to consistent
resource orders of items that are ordered on every mobilization.
This will be an education tool to assist Incident Business Advisors and others of
what an IMT needs in order to be successful and minimize impacts on the IBA’s
and Agency Administrators and Incident Buying Teams. Pretty much a
standardized lists of resources ordered on every mobilization to a wildland
incident.
Sherry Bauer (LSC from the Rocky Basin): would like to meet with any interested
LSC’s and GSUL’s to discuss the use of rental agreements
