College of Arts and Sciences AFC Request for New Course AFC243 Dimensions of Racism (Perspectives On a Diverse World) Tabled (11 for, 0 against, 1 abstention) because 1) the proposal lacks the required syllabus and bibliography, 2) to enable a discussion with SAC and PLSC over potential impacts to existing courses on the same topic (ANTH/SOCL214, PLSC215, PLSC242, and PLSC243), and 3) to encourage an Africology disciplinary focus on this interdisciplinary subject. There was also a comment that if intended to be included in programs, then Program Revision proposals must also be submitted. CMTA Proposals to Revise Programs The two CMTA proposals were Withdrawn by CMTA (unanimous) Communication and Theatre Arts Major With Concentrations Comprehensive Minor in Communication and Theatre Arts SAC The following SAC 1 course revision, 3 new course, and 2 program revision proposals were Unanimously Approved as a Package 1. College of Education Teacher Education Request for New Course SOFD250 EcoJustice Education: an Introduction Not Passed Unanimously to enable a discussion with PHIL over potential impacts with PHIL224, PHIL229, and PHIL524 with the comment that it was regrettably not passed: although dated 1 October, the proposal was not received by the committee until 4 November, which prevented sufficient time to obtain proper input.
