Thanks, Jennifer Smith Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services Division Manager, City of Charlotte Barricades & Upcoming Colville Road Closure • Contractor removed barricades at intersections of Biltmore/Colville to enhance traffic flow. • The contractor is proposing to close the 900 block of Colville Road between Scotland Avenue and Twiford Place on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 7 a.m. and reopen Friday, December 11, 2015, at 5 p.m. Storm Water Services evaluated detour routes to minimize traffic impacts. Current Construction Conditions • Contractor will continue to clean dirt from the streets as a result of their operations. • Based on the inspection by City Zoning, the contractor’s use of the property at Providence and Scotland (1727 Scotland) is not in violation of the City’s Zoning Ordinance. • On November 10, staff met with the contractor to discuss tree protection and screening of stored materials on the lot at 1727 Scotland. The contractor has been asked to provide a screening plan. • The Mecklenburg County Air Quality (MCAQ) permitting and enforcement program manager met this week with the contractor’s project supervision to discuss the County’s ordinance, how it applies to the project, and dust control techniques. MCAQ will respond to 311 calls about dust control with an inspection and enforce requirements when necessary. The contractor will employ the techniques and frequency discussed. Sanitary Sewer Lines • Charlotte Water has identified the scope of repairs needed along Biltmore from Scotland to Colville and will be determining cost and schedule. Street after Construction • Paving on Biltmore will take place after all the sewer repair and curb replacement is complete. • Paving on Scotland near Colville is planned for the week of November 30, weather permitting, and after channel work in the area is completed.
