The certificate must be of a permanent material. Regular copier paper
secured with painters tape is not approved (this was site example used).
Card stock with permanent marker; printed peel off label, are items
approved as a permanent certificate. In a cabinet or electrical panel.
Make sure galvanized nails are being used, several deck builders are
using regular nails in the installation of hangers, ledger strips and other
connections. Regular gun nails or cement coated framing nails are not
approved for deck installation.
Make sure the spacing and tension will resist the passage of a 6” sphere.
Measured to 1) closest interior lot line, 2) Center line of street or public
way, 3) an assumed lot line between two buildings. Note the public way
must deeded for public use or held as common property.
Final action has not been taken by the Building Code Council. Not
known at this time if it will be adopted there is a Ad Hoc joint meeting
on November 9th to discuss and the issue should go back to the Council
at its December meeting.
Make sure that structural element changes go back to the original
designer ( ie: Seal Holder)
A discussion on items on the web site was held. Sheila has been asked
to add request for inspection to the website. Currently we are in the
process of re-doing the website to make it easier to find information and
match our new Organizational layout. Should be updated in the next 3060 days.
To be used as a resource, it explains programs and inspections required.
Book is now available and is being added to the website shortly.
