NEWSLETTER Issue 7, May 2003 Back issues available on website: www.nesc.ac.uk All Hands Meeting 2: Call for Papers The second All Hands Meeting is being held at the East Midlands Conference Centre, Nottingham from 2nd - 4th September. The theme of this year’s meeting is Delivering e-Science – currently many projects have deliverables and results to share with the community, and there is a clear understanding of the effort required to deliver the e-Science vision. There are several options for participation, including Parallel sessions, Poster Presentations, Mini Workshops and Birds of a Feather meetings. Each of these require an abstract to be submitted for consideration by the Programme Committee and should be no more than one page of plain text. As the number of each type of presentation is constrained, there will be a selection process. Abstract submissions can be submitted any time from 7 April to 1 June. NeSC’s involvement at this stage is in hosting cyberchair, to which abstracts should be submitted: http://cyberchair.nesc.ac.uk/AHM2003/ Forthcoming Events Microsoft .NET training Fri 2 May 2nd International Lattice Data Grid Workshop Wed 7 May CSC (Finnish IT centre for Science) visit to Edinburgh Tue 13 May - Thu 15 May Essential .NET: building applications & components with C# Wed 14 May Jullia Goodfellow Visit Fri 16 May Schemas and Ontologies: Building a Semantic Infrastructure for the GRID and Digital Libraries Tue 27 May Inter-research group symposium on particle physics Wed 28 May - Thu 29 May DAIS Specification Meeting More information available at: http://umbriel.dcs.gla.ac.uk/ NeSC/general/events/ Holiday Reminder NeSC will be closed during the University of Edinburgh holidays on 19th and 20th May.
