Relationships of Employee Attitude towards External CSR and
Organisational Commitment in Developing Countries: A Case
of Bangladesh Banking Sector
* Shafiqur Rahman
Effective corporate social responsibility policies are essential for today's
businesses. Previous research suggest that when organisations are engaged in
CSR activities, employees view them positively, which make them further
committed towards organisations, known as organisational commitment.
However, most such studies have been done in the western context. This paper
examines the relationship between employee attitudes towards organisations
CSR initiatives and organisation’s commitment in Bangladesh banking sector;
currently literature in this area is very limited. This imperial study conducts
survey among the employees of the banking sector. This research will find out
whether significant relationship exists among CSR attitude and organisational
commitment among the bank employees in developing country context.
Key terms: Attitude towards CSR, communication, employee commitment, Bangladesh.
