My P7 learner’s statement Carstairs Primary School Space for logo Name: Pupil 1 Date: June 2011 My achievements - I enjoyed our residential trip to Hexham and I did really well working in a team. I am part of our jewellery enterprise group and I am great at making bracelets. I was voted Vice Captain for our house ‘Clyde’ and was voted by my friends as ‘Gala Queen 2011’ all thanks to them! I have received head teacher and star award certificates. I played in the school netball team and we won 12-0! My uncle and cousin taught me how to Personal Photo ride horses, called Rondo and Sammy. I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my little brother. I helped at our Enterprise Day and at the MacMillan Coffee morning. I am on the ECO committee and I helped with getting our first Green Flag by presenting information to the assessors. I also share information from ECO meetings with my classmates and at assemblies. In school I can work independently but I can also work with others as part of a team and have had various roles in group work. Literacy and English Numeracy and mathematics I love writing stories and I especially like areas of my learning. I enjoy maths - we do lots of fun things but we learn at the same time. I can work independently and in group activities. My work is neatly presented. I am good at money, measure and percentages. I can use multiplying, dividing, adding, subtracting accurately and appropriately. I used data handling in Science to collect & analyse information and create graphs. We discussed our work and put it on display. I know that numeracy supports my learning in other areas. In my transition test I got 88%. I was pleased with this result as it showed I could apply my maths Space for skills in new areas. picture Health and wellbeing Across the Curriculum I enjoy all aspects of PE and I play in the school netball team. I go to after school clubs and especially enjoyed dance classes. I feel that I am a fit person and I try to eat sensibly. We have explored lots of ways of keeping ourselves safe including road safety and drugs awareness. We attended Crucial Crew in P7 which highlighted the importance of keeping ourselves safe and resisting being influenced by others. I get on well with my family and friends and look forward to making new friends when I go Space for to high school. picture I really enjoyed learning about the Tudors and we used our technology skills to build a Tudor House. For our enterprise work we made Fair trade bracelets – I am quick at this! I have loved out latest topic called Band Hero. We have organised our own tour and inproved our co odination on the Wii. I love using ICT and I feel am skilled in this area. It helps me in all my learning. We did a set of work called Ghost Writer. I can write in paragraphs and chapters and my punctuation and spelling are generally accurate. I always try to make sure my writing is interesting for the reader. We self and peer assess our work. I LOVE talking but I also know it is important to listen to others! I have talked at class and whole school presentations and we designed our own assembly about R Dahl novels. I read novels in school but also read widely to get information about other subjects like Science and topic. I know that my Literacy skills help me in all
