Postgraduate Seminar Series Thursday 27nd November Room 564 5pm Structural Studies of Novel Piezoelectric materials Kaustuv Datta The perovskite structure has been the focus of current research because it’s simple structure facilitates in understanding the interplay between the structural changes and the physical properties. A few novel solidsolutions with perovskite-type structure has been studied utilizing X-ray and Neutron powder diffraction technique to reveal the detailed crystallographic information with a view to improve the understanding of how structural changes at the morphotropic phase boundary occur in a diverse range of systems. Perovskite Structure: ABO3 I also aim to discuss briefly about the potential applications of powder diffraction technique and what crystallography can do for you. The postgraduate seminar series is a series of informal talks run by postgraduates for postgraduates. All postgraduates are welcome and refreshments are always provided!
