Ms Josephine Attard, Co-ordinator of Midwifery Studies at the Institute of Health Care qualifies as a registered nurse in 1980 and registered midwife in 1982 and practiced as a staff midwife in the delivery suite. In 1980, I joined the School of Midwifery and in 1991 acquired Post Graduate certificate in Education (University of Malta), and was involved in the training of nurses and midwives at the Institute of Health Care. In 1992 became a full-time University member of staff. In 1997 I graduated with post qualification diploma in Nursing/Midwifery education and in 1998 MSc Health Science University of Malta. At present I coordinate and teach on programmes in BSc Midwifery Studies (Hons.), Diploma to Degree Midwifery Studies (Hons.), Erasmus Midwifery Student exchange programme, supervise and examine undergraduates and Masters students’ research dissertations. I am currently a doctoral student in a joint project with the University of Glamorgan and University of Malta. I am married to Mario and mother to Matthias and Paula.
