We would like to see a greater number of firsts. Student feedback generally very positive: 77.78% of students marked the course 4 or 5 out of 5 for the extent to which it achieved its aims. In the past students have struggled to answer essay questions, which may explain the lack of firsts. Tutors have now been advised to ensure that they spend at least some tutorials going through essay questions. In addition, at least one of the formative assignments is now an essay. B Any Learning Resources problems (e.g quality of lecture or tutorial rooms) No. C Issues Identified by Students (from questionnaires, staff-student committee etc.) and Action Taken or Planned Main issues related to: Pace of the lectures felt to be too quick Tutors not following tutorial handout Length of reading lists We hope to resolve by: Controlling better the pace of the lectures and the amount of material covered. Some lecturers will make their lectures available on lecture cast. Tutors will meet at the start of academic year to ensure that tutorial handouts are followed more consistently. We will review the length of the Contract reading lists, with a view to providing more specific references. D Issues Identified by Visiting Examiners and Action Taken or Planned None.
