The committee felt that next years senate should have a safety net. - The Programs line item was determined last and what was left was placed into programs - The Pino Alto Certificates line item was stricken because the committee felt that the account once served a purpose years ago, and that if it were to happen again, current senates could use the Programs Account. The account had not been used in a while. - The Elections line item remained the same. - The College Wide Support Grants line item was increased. Every year this account is completely used. - The Music, Drama and Dance Allocation line item have been consolidated to the VAPA account. The VAPA Dean has been the person to distribute funds to the three previous accounts, so consolidating them into one annual $10,000 lump sum will better serve VAPA music, drama, and dance students. - The Scholarship Direct line item increased by $5,000. Funds are awarded to students through the Cabrillo College Foundation. - The Scholarship Endowment line item remained the same. - The ICC line item increased by $20,000. The current ICC chair has reported that the ICC has been accessing funds from the reserves account. - The Conferences (leadership) line item decreased by $6,000. - The Student Assistant Wages increased by $1,000. The SAC East coordinators plan to hire a Borrow a Book student employee. - The Cultural Events line item increased by $2,000. - The Lecture Series line item remained the same. - The Textbook Rental line item was stricken because the new bookstore management offers greater services and savings than the Textbook Rental Program could have offered. - The Textbooks on Reserve line item remained the same. - The Borrow a Book line item increased b $9,000. - The Bus Plan Support line item changed to Metro 31-Day Pass. - The Emergency Support Program line item was seperated into two separate accoounts. Overall the Senate Elections Committee goal is to double last years vote count (last year was only 733 votes) Two ways to help increase votes is to promote elections in classes and encourage students to vote. Cafeteria Committee – Meeting tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. Technology Advisory Committee – Met for Stem Building and began electrical work last week, and the project has been on hold for 13 days because of an issue with wiring from the CTC to the STEM Building because it needs to go through the 100 building. Elections – Last orientation meeting with candidates is coming up. SPRAC – Meeting tomorrow discussing how budget cuts are affecting Cabrillo students. IX. On another note, the polo’s like really sharp and lets try to wear them on Thursday for senate meetings.
