University Center & Student Activities General Organization Requirements 2015 All individuals within an organization who have a leadership role/titled position must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA and remain in good disciplinary standing with AU. The titles and responsibilities associated with these positions are assigned at the discretion of the individual organizations. Graduate student leaders and organizations that are affiliated with a national headquarters may be held to a higher standard depending on the standards of the academic program or external organization. Students on leave of absence or required to withdraw may not take part in student activities, including student organizations. Organization representatives must meet with a University Center and Student Activities advisor at least once per semester Faculty/ Staff members may not be voting members or officers of AU recognized student organizations. They are, however, encouraged to serve as advisers, sponsors, or consultants. Organizations must abide by the constitution and/or by-laws of their respective governing organization: For clubs, the American University Club Council (AUCC) Constitution and By-Laws For media organizations the Media Board For Fraternity and Sorority organizations, the Inter-Fraternity Council (IFC), Pan Hellenic Association (PanHel), or National PanHellenic Conference (NPHC), and the FSL Minimum Chapter Standards For Student Government (SG) departments, the SG Constitution and By-Laws For Graduate School Councils, the Graduate Leadership Council’s Constitution and By-Laws Abide by University Center and Student Activities and American University policies that include but are not limited to: AU Student Conduct Code Event Scheduling Policy Financial policy/procedure (Financial Procedures for Student Clubs) Food Policy Fundraising Guidelines Political Activity Guidelines Marketing policy
