Welcome to Anna Boneham, who joins the Centre as the administrator for the ‘Europe’s Asian Centuries’ Project, who has been very busy organising activities since last December. 2. The minutes of the last meeting, of 19 Oct 2011, have been circulated and were accepted. 3. GHCC fund and budget matters Anne reports that having had a meeting with Robert, the budget looks less promising than we anticipated. We are looking into the details to make sure we understand exactly what happened. We might need to rethink and give priority to support the Centre’s events and the activities of its members. Other funding resources, such as the Warwick China Partnership Fund and the Humanities Research Centre should be considered to help fund events. The Global Research Fund has received a good first round of applications and a total sum of £1250 has been awarded to a number of colleagues to support their research events. 4. Centre ‘logo’ Having had a number of meetings with the Warwick Print design team and following on from exchanges with the Communication Office, we are now told that we are not allowed any graphics in the ‘logo’, only letters. Anne and Amy are to liaise with the designer for further ideas. 5. Upcoming events The provisional Spring Programme was presented and a few changes and new events were added. Amy is to distribute it. 6. Date of next meeting 24 May is set for the 5th AGM of the Centre. 7. AOB A suggestion is made that the postdocs might like to meet periodically to exchange ideas, proposals of potential speakers for future events. Time and dates are to be set between Kate, Hannah, Felicia, Chris and Stephen.
