2014 ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT CEREMONY
THEORECTICAL AND APPLIED SCIENCE
The outstanding student in BIOCHEMISTRY goes to AMY BIERMANN.
Amy is a member of the Sigma Xi research honor society, the National Society of
Collegiate Scholars, and the Tri Beta biology honor society.
She participated in Professor William Mitchell's research project Development of a
Breeding Program for the Genus Silene and worked as an intern at Pfizer since June
2013.
In her spare time, Amy enjoys reading books particularly of the science fiction and
fantasy genres and also loves outdoor activities such as hiking.
Amy will be taking one year off from her education to work as a clinical laboratory
scientist. In the fall of 2014, I will be applying to Ph.D. programs in biochemistry and
biomedical engineering.
