If you want to do something different like the USB case below, you need to be sure that the section holding the PCB board is right size and not too small or too wide so that it is difficult to use on a computer with multiple ports next to each other. For this reason it is best to start with a sketch of the length and width of the main section of the USB case (36 x 20mm) then add on the rest of your design. Then extrude it and use a primitive box shape to get the cutting box exactly the right size so the pcb board fits inside. The outer box size below is for the main part of the case which holds the PCB – it is the optimum size, as narrow as small as possible whilst big enough to be strong The cutting box size must always be used to cut the correct sized hole for the PCB board and for the top to fit over the end of the USB.
