Instrument Status
• On/Off Cycle: 27
– +1 because of S/C fault in S33
– This was S/C safing #5 since launch
• Hours On: ~65,000 hours
– Continuous operations from 1/15/2005 (probe relay) to
9/11/2007 (S/C safing)
• HDAC Filament Modulation:
– Filament 1: 100.28 hours
– Filament 2: 12.22 hours

JPL Operational Issues
• In S34: Wrong command file send to the
S/C and commanding was continued.
• In S34: Duct tool and MRO addresses in
ALFtool not compatible with new CDS
S/W.
• In S35: Approved sequence did not contain
the IVP vectors.

Planning/Sequencing Issues
• No DSN allocation until late in the sequence
development
– Getting better
• RBOT analysis
– JPL is trying to minimize the time the RWs are under
300 rpm.
– Late pointing design modification
• Getting worst. In S38 we are doing changes for the PSIV2
input port.

Data Corruption
• First reported on 2006/336
• Caused by 1 faulty sub module on SSR-A
• Should be over since S35
– Faulty sub module is skipped in new CDS S/W
– Still some lingering effects
• Some corrupted data is tagged in the future
• Developed code to filter this data before ingesting in DAPS

Sun Occ Port
• Since S30 we are flying with the sun occultation
port in the open position
• Process in place to check if the Sun is “near” the
occultation port
– We are closing the Sun occultation port if not doing a
Sun experiment.
• Several instances with Occ port open and a mesa.
• Several instances of a bright spot on the middle of
the lower half of the detector.
