WEG announces organizational restructuring
Jaraguá do Sul, January 27th, 2010 - WEG S.A. (BOVESPA: WEGE3) announced changes in its
organizational structure this Wednesday. The company will now count with the “Transmission
and Distribution of Energy” business unit and new executive boards.
“We are aligning WEG to the market trends and needs with a very strong focus on
internationalization, new businesses, segments and opportunities.” said Mr. Harry Schmelzer,
CEO of WEG S.A. “The changes in the structure take in consideration the involvement of the
areas to gain productivity and competitiveness”, he completes.
The unit “WEG Energia” (Energy unit) will be divided into “WEG Energy” and “WEG T&D”
(Transmission and Distribution). The purpose is to diversify and expand the businesses and
products in the energy generation, transmission and distribution markets.
WEG Transformers, Trafo, WEG Mexico (Transformers) and Voltran will be jointed at WEG T&D.
Mr. Carlos Diether Prinz, Executive Director of WEG Transformers has been promoted to
Superintendent Director of the new unit.
WEG Energy, on the other hand, will centralize the businesses of high voltage motors, special
motors, generators and the development of new businesses, products and systems for the
generation of renewable and emergency energy. Mr. Sinésio Tenfen, who has been promoted to
superintendent director, will be in charge of the unit. The Development of New Businesses
Directory was created to complete the structure above and Mr. Newton Idemori has been hired
as Executive Director.
The Human Resources and Marketing Directory has been divided in two: Mr. Jaime Richter will
be in charge of the Human Resources and Mr. Antonio César da Silva of the Marketing
Directory.
Mr. Sérgio Schwartz, Vice-President of WEG, leaves the International Directory taking his place
Mr. Roberto Bauer, ex-superintendent director of WEG Energy. The vice-president will lead the
Controlling, Financing, Information Technology and Legal Departments. Two new executive
boards have been created: the Controlling Directory which comprises the Costs and Accounting

Departments and the Financing Directory comprising the Financing and Insurance and Risks
departments.
Mr. Wilson Watzko leaves the manager position in the accounting department to become
Controlling Director. The Financing Directory will have its new director announced soon.
Mr. Alidor Lueders remain as Head of Investors Relation.
