Kellogg Foundation has announced a new $5 million initiative to identify and cultivate innovative programs that promote children's educational success from birth to age 8. The foundation, which defines family engagement as a shared responsibility of families, schools, and communities, will award grants of up to $500,000 over a period of one to three years to help support and expand on-the-ground family engagement efforts, including program design and implementation, service delivery, and policy development and implementation. Organizations that have developed effective family engagement models that address obstacles faced by low-income families — especially those that outline effective teaching strategies, work to align childhood systems in their communities, and focus on building family economic security — are encouraged to apply. Reminder: please review files listed by IdentityFinder after each week’s run on your computer and take steps necessary to handle any concerns/issues. Several college faculty have recently had their computers breached due to noncompliance and the cost of remediation is expensive. As of September 13, we will be known as the Bennett Pierce Prevention Research Center. More on this to follow . . . .
