11 Short description of the Saint Adrien is a general private lasallian, catholic institution which is in an
institution
association with a state. It is located in a residential area that does not have
any particular problem. Regardless of the religion, ethnicity or cultural
background of the people our institution is open to everyone. The majority of
our students come from the families who invest in education and schooling of
their children.
Our commitment as an institution is to train the young ones to become a
"Global Citizen", show them in the today’s world language learning and openmindedness are essential skills to be able to take a part in XXI century
"enlightened" course. The more our students have experience the better they
hear and understand: we want to offer them the opportunity of intercultural
involvement.
The term open-mindedness refers to bring a European aspect to the
institution, encourage the students to explore their environment and to make
them an authentic practice on a foreign language. Consequently, the idea of
exchanging the assistants allows the students to recognize the richness of our
cultural heritage and perceive our regional and cross-border identity.

internship divided into 3 areas : school (from 8 to 10 year olds) middle school (from
11 to 14 year olds) high school (from 15 to 17 year olds)
The intern will work in cooperation with a teacher, mainly in the classroom, library
and computer room.
18 Description of the activities Conversation courses with the learners, thematic workshops ( a cultural
contribution in the subjects such as; history, geography, technology, economics,
science, foreign language), discussion club in a foreign language, supporting
activities to discover the language and the country, to help the institution promote
the project (propose, organize and participate into »important events« such as;
language club, news, information technology..., "international week"...)

Ensemble Scolaire Saint Adrien is located in Villeneuve d'Ascq, an average town in
northern France, which makes it unique in terms of following reasons: we are 15
minutes away from Lille and Belgium by car, 1 hour away from Paris by train and 30
minutes away from Brussels by train, 2.30 hours away from London by train and 3
hours away from Germany by car. Thanks to this geographical proximity to the other
European countries, which participate in the project, every year a lot of students
come to Saint Adrien from other countries to receive a good education.
