For ConTech Lighting Surface Mount AroTech Ballast Canopy: LA18(20,39,70)MHE and LA18(20,39,70)MHE 277
1. Insert fixture head leads and connector into matching hole in canopy and turn clock wise until the locking tab on
connector snaps into place.
2. Insert one black wire lead from fixture head into push-in connector attached to either red or blue wires from
ballast. Insert the other remaining black wire from fixture into the other push in connector.
3. Position fixture head wires into groove of canopy housing before ballast is inserted between screw posts.
4. Tuck wires and connectors from fixture head to ballast into open space between the ballast and the canopy.
5. Insert line side wires with protective sleeve through center hole of back plate and secure plate to housing with
small screws making sure remaining holes line up with screw posts on canopy.
6. If canopy is being mounted to a junction box with screw spacing smaller than the standard 3-1/2", install optional
universal crossbar to junction box.
7. Connect line side ballast leads to supply wires. Black to hot, white to neutral, green to ground.
8. Use 2-1/2" screws to attach canopy to junction box making sure all wires are tucked inside junction box opening.

• Do not exceed the nominal supply voltage or amperage ratings.
• Installing contrary to instructions may cause unsafe conditions.
• Warning: Risk of fire. Most dwellings built before 1985 have supply wire rated at 60°C. Consult a qualified
electrician before installation.
• To avoid hazards to children, account for all parts and properly dispose of all packing materials.
