BUDGET PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING October 19, 2011 3:00 p.m. Eureka Campus – Lakeview Room Notes MEMBERS PRESENT Rebecca Ashbach, Mary Grace Barrick, Bob Brown, Dan Calderwood, Soloman DeCamp, Michael Dennis, Pat Girczyc, David Gonsalves (phone), Lee Lindsey, Tami Matsumoto, Carla Spalding, Ken Strangfeld, Steve Stratton, Maggie White ALSO PRESENT Joe Hash CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by committee co-chair Bob Brown. Bob thanked David Gonsalves (Mendocino) and Melody Pope (Del Norte) for agreeing to serve on the committee. MEETING NOTES The meeting notes from September 22, 2011 were approved as presented. REPORT OF LAST YEAR’S FUNDED PROJECTS There was discussion regarding the list of last year’s funded projects and it was agreed to move the list forward to the planning committee. Bob asked that everyone share information with their constituency groups. RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE PRESIDENT Lee asked that the committee review the list of un-prioritized projects for Measure Q. This list came up through the Facility Planning Committee as requested by the president. There is approximately $10.5M remaining in unallocated Measure Q funds. It is the task of this committee to prioritize the list of projects which will then be forwarded to the Board of Trustees. Lee will send the list out to all committee members and each member will then assign a rank to each item on the project list and return the completed ranking to Lee. The rankings will then be tabulated as the results will be sent out to the committee. 2011-12 BUDGET UPDATE Lee reported that the district auditors were on campus last week and we will soon be receiving a preliminary report from them. The district’s Final Budget is conservative and even with mid-year cuts from the state we are on track. ADJOURNED The meeting adjourned at 4:00 p.m. SUBMITTED lw
