CU is implementing Higher One for refunds to students
Rick will need a tracking field in SBI for designating student
biographical info transmitted to Higher One for contact by
Higher One – more requirements for tracking fields may be
required as this moves forward
Data standards had initially planned on looking at holds but
this should be addressed by the functional areas.
Conversion Round 2: any changes? Be thinking if there is
anything different that we need to do before June.
Jamie Glover inquired whether ITS could do the tape load
for ACT/EOS. Discussion was that the issues have been

with the birthdate being blank and this isn’t something that
IT could do. IT may need to discuss this with Jamie so that
she understands the issue.
Chase is working on this and it’s going along well. There are
some classes that are missing. When testing comes into play
we’ll find the forms that users need more access to.

Sherry indicated that users shouldn’t be calling during
training asking for access. They should be checking access
to screens before training occurs. She will address this at the
next ILT meeting.
Decision was made to not copy TEST to TRNG until a later
point. TRAIN01-20 will be removed from TRNG and all
training will be done on TEST. IT will still be able to login
to TRNG and TEST.
Debbie will email functional leads to request that IT setup
be the same as the power users on each module.

Highlighted training events may occur in CETES II. The conference center can be divided into two parts and Keith feels that it would be
easier to use these instead of Howell Hall and Admin Board Room.

From Laurene: I checked with the team to be sure and the
general consensus was that this would be a perfect time to
go ahead with the upgrades/patches for 8.1, being that we
just completed a conversion cycle. You should be current on
all releases so as we move forward we won't risk needing
the upgrade patch in the middle of a conversion cycle and/or
CRP.
I only ask that we keep in communication on the
scheduled timing of the above, as we don't want to thwart
any consulting or training that may be going on at the time.

Listed are the installed Banner versions and the
current updates available.
We will need to review the upgrade documentation
for each module to determine what additional steps each
area will have to perform.

Would like to have Doreen included in the registration
training so that questions regarding AR can be addressed.
Sherry will also mention this to Mike that this seems to be a
weak link in that the consultants can’t answer the AR
questions that arise in other trainings.
Techs should take a look at all the documentation for their
module by Friday and indicate the priority of it to
Chase/Greg. The functional users should take a look at the
8.1 user guides.

Installation of New Releases (Patch Management) during
migration phase:
 Anyone may request installation of releases or
patches. Requests are to be made through EduServe
PM.
o The request includes a description of the patch
and affected modules.
o Either the request (requestor) or the
approval/denial (Sherry) needs to be
communicated to the team leads.
o The process must also include Laurene Farley
(Team Lead) to facilitate the request and for
information. She may be the originator of the
request as well. We want to ensure the patch will
not adversely affect anything else during the
course of the implementation.

Sherry will be responsible for scheduling the
installation window and tasks.
o The DBA will do patch installations.
o Generally, upgrades are applied to the SEED
database first, then rolled out to the other

database, so crosscheck training and testing
schedules and who is using what databases for
what purposes.

Steps for Patch Management AFTER Go Live:
-------------------------------1. Complete form. Form requires signatures requestor,
team lead, and project manager.
2. Check Banner UDC Compatiblity Matrix. Upgrades
must be compatible with existing module versions.
3. Install any upgrade/patch in TEST.
4. Users will need to test the upgrade/patch.
5. An email from the Team Lead to ITS that testing has
been completed and the upgrade/patch is acceptable.
6. Schedule date/time for upgrade/patch.
7. Install upgrade/patch to SEED and production (PROD).
8. Email Team Lead of install of upgrade/patch to
production.

Banner.

Cameron University is committed to using SunGard Banner
without university-invoked modification – we do not modify
Banner baseline code, forms or processes. When a new
Sherry will take this to Glen.
Recommendation is to not accept the SOW. Other options
are to do the interface ourselves or designate 1-3 people to
do the dual entry.

process is created, evaluation is first done to see if Banner
delivers a method for the process in baseline; baseline logic
is used whenever possible.
OSRHE mandate FICE codes for students’ former
institutions will no longer be allowed in UDS reporting.
FICE codes are no longer officially maintained by any
federal entity and must be crosswalked to IPEDS codes. Our
current semester, Spring 2009 student data will be the last
semester OSRHE will accept the FICE code in this field.
I.T. will work with Registrar’s Office for a decision.
OSRHE mandate adoption of new race/ethnic codes
beginning Fall 2010 for student and human resource UDS
data. The Data Standards team referred this back to I.T. and
Data Standards will accept whatever decision I.T. makes.
I.T. will work with Admission’s Office for a decision.
OSRHE mandate a change in preliminary enrollment
reporting. The current process is being replaced with an
early run of the UDS Student and Class data report to allow
for improved timelines and detail of institutional
information early in the Fall and Spring semesters. Tom will
add a section on support and data distribution in the Data
Standards Manual.
This is required to report to the state and there doesn’t seem
to be a place to put this in Banner. But this field is blank on
several new employees and they are still being paid.

316 conflicts between ETS High School codes and the PEC
database. It’s possible we may not be using these conflicting
codes and Dawne is going to do more investigation.
Places have been identified in biographic_mst and changes
will move forward on screen changes and application
changes. Reporting issues need to be discussed for in house
reporting and FA reporting. Julie will talk to Tom on inhouse reporting.
Kurt is researching equivalents for Cameron code and the
state job codes and will discuss this with UCO to see what
they do with the state job codes.
