join the team to make the vision a reality. This is a rare opportunity to join an early
stage London-based start-up with an international management team and global
ambitions and to shape and deliver commercial strategy that will create awareness of
the Shopitize offering and attract business from consumer brands and retailers, as well
as other industry verticals.
About the Role:
Shopitize is seeking a motivated, intelligent and resourceful Business Development
Manager with a strong mix of B2B strategic partnership and sales experiences to join
our team. Partnering closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you will drive the
development and execution of Shopitize’s commercial strategy aimed at building
partnerships with and attracting business from large blue chip brands and online
businesses in consumer goods and services sectors.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing the key
relationships with executives within these companies and will work closely with both
our Product & Marketing teams to construct an appropriate offer to a brand and
integrate partner feedback into our product development process.
This role will set the foundation for Shopitize’s growth – establishing the strategic
direction for the future sales team and putting in place the foundational systems and
processes that will help Shopitize scale.
Your responsibilities:
- develop a robust commercial strategy, sales plan and tactics to unlock the
revenue potential with and for our target partners;
- deliver revenue by building and maintaining relationships with senior level
clients; consistently multi-tasking between new business acquisition and
account management;
- understand Shopitize business model, build and measure key KPIs
- craft partner and industry vertical specific pitch decks, that reflect a deep
understanding of the Shopitize business model, strategic impact and
understanding of Shopitize product;
- be an active member in the product development process, gathering partner
feedback and communicating it to the Product & Marketing Team;

work with Marketing and Product teams in developing partner commercial
aimed at maximizing ROI and balancing client and user base requirements.
This includes policies around pricing, trading terms;
prepare and manage the sales budget, pipeline tracking & reporting, forecasts
and attainment of revenue objectives;
create an efficient sales and partner development function through the
adoption of professional sales approaches and processes;
monitor the client industry developments and Shopitize’s competitive
landscape, identify key trends and developments and regularly update the
Senior Management Team, bringing ideas on new business opportunities to
the table.
This role is perfectly suited to an entrepreneurial and motivated Business
Development professional who enjoys the challenge of creating a commercial
roadmap and closing the initial deals to help an ambitious start-up to achieve
something great. Tenacious describes your approach to execution and you can’t
imagine not rolling-up your sleeves to be in the details of the solution. The ideal
candidate should have a strong understanding of KPIs and the ability to create
comprehensive solutions within a limited budget of an early stage company.
You'll be office-based, but spend much of your time visiting existing and prospective
partners. Your role may involve travel in both the UK and abroad.
Experience and skills:

minimum BA/BSc degree with a strong academic record;
Five plus years experience in any of the following:
o business development, strategic sales (B2B or B2C) or account
management in the digital space, preferably at a consumer web
business or marketing agency
o brand management, customer marketing, category management or
business development in a fast moving consumer goods (FMCG);
o loyalty schemes run by retailers or financial services companies;
o strategy consulting with domain experience in FMCG;
a proven track record in acquiring new business and achieving targets, as well
as the experience in managing a portfolio of accounts;
distinctive skills in analysis and problem solving and impeccable business
judgment;
entrepreneurial drive, high motivation, and goal-orientation ability to deliver
to tight deadlines and work calmly under pressure;
excellent sales, negotiation, communication, networking and writing skills;
experience in developing marketing materials; experience in pitching to
decision makers of large blue chip companies;
network of contacts in the consumer goods sector;
budget management and forecasting experience; good planning and
organisational skills;
a broad grasp of internet technologies and an understanding or background
with mobile apps production is a PLUS;

experience in affiliate, SEO marketing and online businesses desirable;
native English speaker;
a full driving license;
positive attitude, consultative approach and self-motivation are all essential;
team player, ability to line manage and be seen as a mentor to others;
strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite;
