Architecture & Development to join the team to make the vision a reality. This is a rare opportunity
to join an early stage London-based start-up with an international management team and global
ambitions and to shape and deliver the technical infrastructure that will fulfill Shopitize’s proposition
to consumers and brands.
About the Role:
As the Head of architecture and development, you will drive the system design and development to
make the product vision a reality. Partnering closely with the Chief Product & Marketing Officer and
the Founders, your technological & product insight and leadership will be indispensible in delivering
the product today and shaping the roadmap for the future.
This role is perfectly suited to technologist who enjoys the challenge of planning, building and
melding multiple technologies to achieve something great. You take pride in your server-side
domain expertise and have a passion for architecting and delivering technical solutions. You’ll also
be designing the database that will scale to millions of customers around the world, overseeing the
development of mobile and web clients that customers will love, and play a crucial role in the server
side intelligence that brings it all to life. Security, scalability and performance and execution are
part of your DNA. Tenacious describes your approach to problems solving and delivery and you
can’t imagine not rolling-up your sleeves to be in the details of the solution.

track record of successful delivery of server and web/mobile solutions. You relish the opportunity
to build and train a top development team to supplement an outsourced provider to speed
innovation and time to market. Your best-in class development processes and methodologies will
be instilled into the Company from day 1.
Core qualifications:

5+ years of experience developing systems and software for business environment ,
development, management and architecture experience;
BS degree required (MS preferred) in computer science or equivalent skills and knowledge;
Ability to evaluate optimal technology options, desired outcomes and frame decision
tradeoffs;
Strong development management skills with experience managing a team of at least 5
development, test, program management members ;
Expert in database architecture and development (scalability, security, performance,
storage)

Solid knowledge in integrating, cleansing, processing and categorizing large amounts of data
(data warehouse, database, optimization, indexing);
End-to-end experience delivering a product from design to commercial launch;
Experience managing remote development teams;
Strong experience in agile development methodologies;
Familiarity with mobile application development (Android, iOS, RIM);
Familiarity with web portal development;
Experience working with design and user experience teams;
Bonus points for:
o Experience in cloud computing;
o Knowledge of imaging technologies a bonus;
Battle scars and sense of humor requisite.
