Cameron chooses Nigh Scholarship recipient
for leadership ability, public service efforts
Ann Morris has been selected as Cameron’s recipient of the George and Donna Nigh Public Service
Scholarship award for her exceptional leadership skills and her public service interests. Morris received a
$1,000 scholarship for the Spring 2008 semester.
As the recipient of the scholarship, Morris will represent Cameron at the George and Donna Nigh
Leadership Academy, a weekend-long leadership event held in February in Oklahoma City. Gov. Brad
Henry, members of the Oklahoma Legislature and business leaders from across the state will participate in
the academy.
“I am very excited to represent Cameron at the upcoming Nigh conference” Morris said. “It will be
beneficial to network with fellow students involved in leadership across the state and to gain ideas and
insight on how to become a better leader on campus in the promotion of Cameron University.”
Morris is a junior art major. She currently serves as co-chair of CU’s Programming Activities Council and
maintains a 4.0 G.P.A. Morris has also served as an Aggie Ambassador, Student Government Association
representative and mentor for Aggie Escape. In addition, she was one of two students elected from a six
state region to serve on the National Association for Campus Activities Leadership Team.
“The Nigh Leadership Scholarship Academy is a wonderful opportunity for Oklahoma college students,”
said CU Dean of Students Services Jennifer Holland. “Ann will be an excellent representative of Cameron

Nigh, ADD ONE
University. We are proud of her academic success and her involvement in leadership positions on
campus.”
A PLUS and McMahon Scholar, Morris is a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Eta Sigma honor societies
and won the National Association of Campus Activities graphics competition. She plans to pursue a career
in graphic design upon graduation.
Morris graduated from Eisenhower High School in Lawton. She is the daughter of John and Margie Morris.
The George and Donna Nigh Public Service Scholarship was created to provide opportunities for students
who are preparing for careers in public service, as well as giving those students a chance to interact with
each other and the state’s governing officials at the leadership academy.
Each college and university in Oklahoma can nominate a participant for the scholarship program, which
was established in 1999. The program honors former Gov. George Nigh and his wife as a tribute to their
extensive involvement in public service and education.
Scholarships are awarded through the George and Donna Nigh Scholarship Fund and administered by the
George and Donna Nigh Public Service Institute.
