Jenny Jackson is not a follower.
The Frederick native has been selected as Cameron’s recipient of the George and Donna Nigh Public
Service Scholarship award for her exceptional leadership skills and her public service interests. Jackson
will receive a $1,000 scholarship for the Spring 2005 semester.
As the recipient of the scholarship, Jackson, a business administration major, will represent Cameron at the
George and Donna Nigh Leadership Academy, a weekend-long leadership event to be held later this spring
in Oklahoma City. Gov. Brad Henry, members of the Oklahoma Legislature and business leaders from
across the state will all participate in the academy.
Jackson, a participant of Cameron’s Presidential Leaders University Scholars program, is the current
president of the CU Student Government Association. She also serves as vice president of the campus
chapter of Phi Kappa Phi, Cameron’s most prestigious academic honor society and the nation’s oldest and
largest interdisciplinary group.
Jackson is a McNair Scholar, an honor student and has been recognized in Who’s Who Among American
University’s and Colleges. Earlier this year, she was appointed as the finance director for the Oklahoma
Intercollegiate Legislature.

Jackson is the daughter of Tony and Debra Jackson of Frederick.
The George and Donna Nigh Public Service Scholarship was created to provide opportunities for students
who are preparing for careers in public service, as well as giving those students a chance to interact with
each other and the state’s governing officials at the leadership academy.
Each college and university in Oklahoma can nominate a participant for the scholarship program, which
was established in 1999. The program honors former Gov. George Nigh and his wife as a tribute to their
extensive involvement in public service and education.
Scholarships are awarded through the George and Donna Nigh Scholarship Fund and administered by the
George and Donna Nigh Public Service Institute.
