Respondus: Importing Questions
I. Importing Questions from
Respondus
Summary:
Respondus allows instructors to format questions in a text, rich text, or Word document
file in order to be uploaded quickly and saved as Respondus files.
1. Under the “Start” tab,
select “Import
Questions.”
2. Select the appropriate
file type of from the drop
down menu in section 1,
“Select the file to
Import.”
3. Click “Browse”
beside the “File Name:”
option
*In order for Respondus
to read and create
questions from the
document, each
question should adhere
to the format to the right.
For more information on
proper Respondus
formatting, see the
Office of e-Learning’s
“Respondus Question
Format” handout.
4. Select “Create a new
document, named:” and
give the text/survey a
title.
5. Next, select whether
the file will be an Exam
(for a grade) or a
Survey.
6. Click “Preview”
7. If properly formatted,
your questions should
display in the “Preview
results” section at the
bottom of the window.
Note – you may see
a“duplicate titles
warning – this can be
disregarded
8. Click “Finish”
Conclusion:
You have now created a new Respondus file, which will remain open and
can be edited via the “Edit” tab at the top of the window, or published to
Blackboard (*see additional instruction in “Publishing Respondus files to
Blackboard”)
