The gallery disseminates electronic press releases and notices to calendar listings maintained by the College of Arts and Science and the PAWS ArtScene Channel and to the larger community. Electronic versions of the announcement may be included. Consult with the Gallery Director on formatting. Students are encouraged to extend publicity efforts by working with the Director on the Press Release well in advance of the exhibition start date. Student compilations of public media contacts, arts and culture organizations and related listing services are highly encouraged. This greatly enhances the public for your work and helps develop a valuable personal network of artists, galleries and related community contacts. Social media posts are made during the week of show by the Gallery Assistant on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. We encourage exhibitors to make use of social media platforms (facebook, twitter, instagram, etc.) to share their event with the public. Exhibitors may also contact local newspapers, radio stations, websites, etc. to promote their event. Distribution of posters and handbills at various locations across the city is also encouraged. 28
