A Review of Power Management Software Satyajit Teeluck, Sameerchand Pudaruth, Somveer Kishnah Abstract—With the presence of massive data centers, multinational software development organisations and other IT related businesses, the IT industry is fast becoming a major consumer of electrical energy. This paper is a throughout review of the main energy management software that exist today. If properly used, they can contribute to a significant reduction in the energy requirements of all types of organisations and to millions of households as well. The paper describes many other simple techniques that can be put into practice to achieve even greater benefits. It is hoped that this paper will contribute towards a greener world by reducing the carbon footprint of technology users. Keywords—energy consumption, carbon footprint, power management.
