Leeds University Union (32) Edward Boyle Library (83) Please note: there is no public parking on Leeds University campus between 7am and 5pm weekdays (with exception of disabled Blue Badge Permit holders) Parkinson Building (60) School of Mathematics Reception (use entrance opposite building 74) Public transport to the University of Leeds By coach If you arrive by coach you can catch bus numbers 6, 28 or 97 to the University (Parkinson Building). There is also a taxi rank; a taxi will take about 10 minutes and cost approximately £5. By Air Leeds Bradford airport is approximately 7 miles away. In addition to international flights there are regular flights to a number of UK airports including Aberdeen, Belfast, Bristol, Exeter, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Isle of Man, London Gatwick, Newquay, Plymouth and Southampton. A taxi from the airport to the University will cost approximately £20. By Train Leeds train station links regularly to all major UK cities. You can get from the station to the campus on foot, by taxi or by bus. A taxi ride will take about 10 minutes and it will cost approximately £5. From the train station by bus We advise you to take bus number 1 which departs from Infirmary Street. The bus runs approximately every 10 minutes and the journey takes 10 minutes. You should get off the bus just outside the Parkinson Building (there is also the Leeds City bus which takes you from the train station to the lower end of campus, but the journey time is much longer, at time of printing this costs £1). From the train station on foot The University campus is a 20 minute walk from the train station. The map below will help you find your way. Leave the station through the exit facing the main concourse. Turn left past the bus stops and walk down towards City Square. Keeping City Square on your left, walk straight up Park Row. At the top of the road turn right onto The Headrow, passing The Light shopping centre on your left. After The Light turn left onto Woodhouse Lane and continue up the hill. Keep going, passing Morrisons, Leeds Beckett University and the Dry Dock boat pub on the right, heading for the large white clock tower of the University’s Parkinson building on the left. If you have a permit, please contact us as soon as possible prior to your visit so that arrangements can be made for you to park. The nearest public car park to the University is the Woodhouse Lane multi-storey (LS2 3AX), but please be aware that this often becomes full early in the day. Driving Routes Please note that ‘sat-nav’ systems often lead drivers through the very centre of Leeds, which, whilst direct, is not necessarily the easiest route. We advise you consider the following: …directions from junction 2 of M621 From the Wetherby A643 (A58) exit off the roundabout at Junction 2 continue along the dual carriageway towards Leeds. The road will lead onto the A58. After 1.2 miles you will approach a major interchange. Go straight ahead at the roundabout (Signposted City Centre A660) Follow this road (Otley Road) into Leeds. After ~1.5 miles the bus lane will disappear, take the left hand lane Go straight on at both sets of traffic lights and continue over a small hill On descending the hill you will reach a set of traffic lights with the Hyde Park pub on the left Go straight on at the traffic lights The Merrion Centre (LS2 8BT) and St Johns Centre (LS2 8LQ): Take a right turn off Woodhouse Lane heading into the city at Merrion Street following the signs for the inner city loop road St Johns car park is almost immediately on the right hand side of the one way road For The Merrion Centre car park take the first left up Wade Lane and follow the signs round onto Merrion Way. Schofields NCP car park (LS1 6AD): Follow Woodhouse Lane straight into town - the car park is on the left just before you reach the pedestrianised area.
