who are paying full academic fees at the international fee rate.

Minimum Academic Requirements (if English is not your first language, then candidates must also meet the University’s
English language requirements):

Applicants for a School of Mathematics International Research Scholarship (IRS) award must
hold a first degree (or a combination of degrees) at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level
equivalent to a UK First Class Honours degree or a good Upper Second Class Honours degree in
a subject relevant to the programme of study.

Applicants whose first language is not English must have obtained a valid certificate (no more
than two years old), which may be either IELTS with a score of at least 6.0 and not less than 5.5
in any component or the Internet Based TOEFL (iBT) with a score of at least 87 and not less than
20 in listening and reading, 21 in writing and 22 in speaking.
