Monday
We did our ’u’ page of our ‘Big and Little’ book. We
greeted classmates, said the pledge and our class
promise and did calendar. We sang our ‘Days of the
Week’ song and ‘Macarena Months’. We subitized
numbers to 10 on our touchscreen, read our popcorn
words and did our ABC charts’. We reviewed habits of
thinkers. We learned that all words have vowels, that
vowels make more than one sound and a song to
remember which letters are vowels. We did literacy
workshop. We learned our new popcorn word ‘is’ and
did rainbow writing of it. We were introduced to our
poem of the week ‘Snow on the Green Grass’. We
read How Full is Your Bucket? We graphed whether we
went to the library for our country presentation. We
had our first presentations and recorded those
countries in our passports. We discovered our mystery
number. We did a math activity recording a number
in three different ways (an array, in a ten frame and
writing the numeral). The AM class had ‘Family
Monday”.

Dear Parents,
Thanks to all who attended Parent’s Night. Hopefully it was
informative for you. I think the kids enjoyed doing it for you.
If you happen to be available for half or all day on Friday, January
22nd, OSE could use your help at our COSI on Wheels event. OSE
students from preschool to fifth grade will participate and be
inspired to be scientists. Please visit:
http://www.signupgenius.com/go/70a054aa4aa2caa8-cosi2
to sign up. It would be a great time and greatly appreciated!
If you have any empty tissue boxes or Pringles-type cans, we
could use them for an upcoming project. We still need about five
more tissue boxes and lots more of the cans with lids.
