Guidance Topics:
Resilience, Thinking Flexibly,
Is your conflict a Penny, Quarter, or Dollar? Teaching
kids to be resilient, think flexibly when solving problems, and
use positive thinking helps kids to get along with others.
Small Conflicts/
Problems that are
not a big deal.
Let it go!!
Conflicts /
problems that
you need to try to
solve yourself.
Conflicts/
problems that
need help from
an adult.
A student is:
*taking too long
at the drinking
fountain.
*cutting in line.
*rolls their eyes.
*drops a pass at
recess.
*chooses a different
partner.
A student is:
*making noises
when you are
trying to work.
*calling you silly
names.
*putting their stuff
on your desk.
*Leaving you out
of a game.
A student is:
*being hurt by
another student.
*calling you
names over and
over again.
*saying bad
words.
*threatening you
or someone.
By using this strategy, we can teach our children how to
become flexible independent thinkers with a positive mindset
when it comes to problems solving.
