The School of Social Work at The University of Montana-Missoula
Summary
wishes to change the name of its baccalaureate social work program
offered online from “2 + 2 Social Work Program with Flathead Valley
Community College” to “School of Social Work Bachelor’s of Social
Work Distance Program.” The reason for the requested change is that
the program will be offered to students statewide, not just students at
Flathead Valley Community College. This name more accurately
reflects the scope of the program.

The proposed name for the program more accurately describes the statewide nature and scope of the
BSW distance education program which began as a joint venture between the School of Social Work
and Flathead Valley Community College. It is no longer just a UM-FVCC venture.
