Advisors within the departments guide this process. New areas of emphasis within the Associate of Arts Degree include Fundamentals of Police Science, Licensed Addiction Counselor, pre-professional Social Work, and preprofessional Psychology. Other areas of emphasis will be announced as they become available. Please explain/justify the new proposal or change. The University of Montana College of Technology requests approval of an ‘area of concentration’ for an Associates of Arts degree. The area of concentration will be identified as “Fundamentals of Police Science”. Graduates of the proposed area of concentration will graduate from the University of Montana with an Associate of Arts with an area of concentration in Fundamentals of Police Science as well as the Law Enforcement Officer Basic Course Diploma from the Montana Law Enforcement Academy (MLEA).
