BloodCenter of Wisconsin is issuing an emergency appeal for blood donations. Over the Labor Day weekend and the subsequent weeks, significantly fewer donors have been seen per day than needed. As a result of this decline, BloodCenter is asking an additional 1,000 donors to come forward for patients in need. You can help by participating in our upcoming blood drive! UWSP Blood Drive: Open to the public Monday, Sept. 23 and Tuesday, Sept. 24 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days University Center, Melvin Laird Room For an appointment email sieodrive@uwsp.edu or call BloodCenter toll free for more information at 1-888-310-7555. Walk-ins are welcome. BloodCenter has less than a one-day supply of some critical blood types, such as O negative. Fortunately, our hospitals have an adequate supply at this time but we must ensure an adequate supply of all blood types moving forward. If you have made an appointment to donate blood, please keep that appointment. Patients in our community are relying on your generosity. BloodCenter is the sole supplier of blood to Ministry Saint Michaels Hospital in Stevens Point.
