How will you and your faculty colleagues develop your understanding of how business is conducted around the world? The most exciting and effective way for faculty to develop their own skills is by on-the-spot experience. 1705 College St., Columbia, SC 29208 The 33 Centers for International Business Education and Research (CIBERs) at major universities in the United States have developed a cost-effective method to meet this need through numerous Overseas Programs for Faculty Development in International Business (FDIB). CIBER programs cover key emerging market regions of the world – Africa, India, Southeast Asia, Russia, Turkey, the Middle East, and the MERCOSUR countries of South America – as well as the always important major markets of Western Europe. Participating faculty members as well as business professionals and graduate students, gain first-hand knowledge of how business is conducted in a particular region of the world and the opportunity to network with overseas counterparts. They can integrate international examples into the courses they currently teach and develop new teaching and research interests, and make various business and professional contacts. Each program combines business, academic and governmental visits, cultural experiences and university presentations, all providing the opportunity to see just how the cultures and institutions influence the conduct of business. Please contact each CIBER directly about their program(s) or visit the central CIBER website @ http://www.ciberweb.msu.edu/facultydev.
