ARC Spring 2013 Meeting Notes April 24 and 26 April 24 I. AP courses on transcript ARC agreed to use Z999 to post AP credits. The steps are to enter in SM6013; section A#P (AP), C#P (CP),I#B (IB) use SM6012 to identify what the class is, for example Engl 101. Cascadia and Pierce colleges will test the process this summer. No live data will be collected until fall 2013 at the earliest. It was agreed that campuses could use unique grades as long as they represent a grade of 2.0 or greater II. LGBTQ To get the questions to populate in the web page, SM4013 must be established. The option to make the questions available will be implemented today. SM2004, stu misc, will populate from web answers III. Informed Consent Informed consent is not optional and will be automated. Colleges will need to set up two new unusual action codes. Student responses will be populated automatically from the web on the registration screen; a Y or N will appear indicating whether or not the student has given consent. A blank indicates if the student has not yet responded. Note: students without an SSN will not be asked this question. IV. Exit coding Is the 9 still needed? Yes for Perkins funds and the Opportunity Grant. V. SBCTC report, Scott Copeland: - DTA changes have been made to symbolic reasoning for the math requirement - cannot do a reverse degree with anything less than 15 credits - Budget discussions - Senate has 3% tuition reduction; house has a 3% increase and the governor has no increase - Over 300 people testified to the proposal of permitting SNG for undocumented students. The bill did not pass. - Improving access for students with disabilities passed. - Priority registration for vets: 2013-14 year colleges that offer early registration for any segment of the population must have a process to offer early registration (eligible veterans or National Guard as determined for 70 and 71 waivers) 1) New students and those who have completed the admission must be offered an early registration time 2) Continuing and returning students are eligible for early registration and must be offered this option, if they have met current requirements for enrollment April 26 I. ctcLink Update - Betsy discussed the importance of participation in the global design. Ciber is under contract to meet the schedule provided in the waves reviewed. The schedule for Foundation Decisions and BPA workshops were reviewed, along with a flow chart of PeopleSoft decision points using sample Academic Program/Plan tables II. WSSSC Update-The quarterly meeting will be held next week. It is expected that data governance will be a big topic at the meeting III.
