Recommendation from Joint Promotion Committee
The Director of the School of Education is added to the Joint Promotion Committee as a voting
member.
Rationale
When there were four colleges, membership of the Joint Promotion Committee included 12
faculty, 4 academic deans, and the provost/vice chancellor.
Reorganization of the university into three colleges necessitated a revision to the Joint
Promotion Committee membership to read: “Membership of the committee shall consist of
the provost/vice chancellor, the four three academic deans, and …” (3-29-07 FS)
So now we are returning to a 17 member committee to include: 12 faculty, 3 deans/1 director,
and the provost/vice chancellor.
