ASSOCIATE VICE CHANCELLOR FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES The Associate Vice Chancellor reports to and works in consultation with the Provost/Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. The Associate Vice Chancellor promotes and facilitates the highest-quality in academic curriculum and academic support programs by fostering a positive and productive work environment, a spirit of collaborative leadership, and a commitment to inclusive excellence. RESPONSIBILITIES The Associate Vice Chancellor provides effective oversight, operational direction, and coordination for the following major functions: PROGRAM, UNIT, AND INITIATIVE OVERSIGHT Supervise and oversee personnel performance and programmatic operations of select programs and units including: University Honors Student Success Network International Education Title III Implementation High-Impact Practices Coordinates and/or serves as liaison for select initiatives. CURRICULUM OVERSIGHT Coordinate and administer all aspects of the undergraduate and graduate curricula including: Collaborate with college deans and program directors to ensure curricula of superior academic quality and to strengthen recruitment and success of diverse students. Chair the University Curriculum Committee. Serve as the Provost designee on the University General Education Committee. Facilitate the development of new academic programs, certificates, and centers, and promote interdisciplinary collaboration and curricular innovations at all levels. Monitor and coordinate key performance measures for the undergraduate and graduate experiences including: Monitor course availability, assist in freshman/transfer student orientation, and respond to related student and parent inquiries. Track student retention, course completion, and student success rates. Serve as the Program Review Coordinator for academic program and academic support program reviews. Prepare reports of Provost's department review meetings and assist the Provost with follow-up activities. Serve as the UW System liaison for new academic programs and coordinate campus responses to inquiries. Retain academic program accreditation final reports; respond to the UW System annual report on undergraduate program planning and review. And other duties as assigned by the Provost/Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. QUALIFICATIONS Earned doctorate/terminal degree from an accredited institution Tenurable as a full professor in one of the academic departments as evidenced by an appropriate record of scholarly activity and teaching excellence Proven ability to provide higher education administrative leadership and vision Minimum three years experience in higher education administration at or above department chair Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusiveness among faculty, staff, and students
