Position: Sentry Insurance Endowed Chair in Business Analytics

A 2016 gift of $4 million from Sentry Insurance will establish a new endowed faculty position in data
analytics and allow UW-Stevens Point to launch an innovative curriculum for undergraduate students. The
successful candidate for this position will help build and launch a new data analytics degree program.

Position Description: The School of Business & Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point
invites applications for the Sentry Insurance Endowed Chair in Business Analytics, a tenure-track faculty
position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. Candidates should have a completed Ph.D., or be ABD,
with the completion of Ph.D. in the first year.
Candidates are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching core courses in Business Analytics. The
successful candidate will have a solid understanding of the fundamental aspects of Business and Data
Analytics including expertise in two or more of the following: statistics, econometrics, business intelligence,
management science, computational finance, decision sciences, marketing analytics or data visualization.
Candidates will demonstrate relevant teaching or professional experience and an active research agenda.
The successful candidate will have the education, experience, and skills necessary to enable students to
understand the processes and tools of business analytics, solve real-world problems, and participate in
cross-disciplinary teams.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Ph.D. in business analytics related area including statistics, econometrics, business intelligence,
management science, computational finance, decision sciences, marketing analytics or data visualization.
- Experience or interest in developing strong relationships with local businesses and other partners.
Preferred:
- Ph.D. from an AACSB-Accredited Institution in a business analytics related area.
- Expertise in two or more of the following: statistics, econometrics, business intelligence, management
science, computational finance, decision sciences, marketing analytics or data visualization.
- Industry or academic experience in business or data analytics.
- Experience or interest in developing strong relationships with local businesses and other partners.
Department/University Description: The School of Business and Economics has 20 full-time faculty
members serving 1,000 majors in Business Administration, Economics, and Accounting.

Appointment Date: Fall 2016 or Spring 2017
Terms of Employment: This is a 9-month, full-time tenure-track position, with the possibility of summer
employment. Salary range is dependent on qualifications.
