GROUP PROJECT SPH 106 Objectives: Students will: Participate in a task group and experience and record group behaviors Learn problem-solving strategies and adapt a variety of roles Analyze the audience’s understandings, interests, and needs Effectively deliver a clearly organized and well-supported campaign for a product Use logical arguments and supporting evidence Topic: The group must choose an interesting product or create a fictional product that would meet the needs of the other students. Instructions: The group may divide up tasks but all group members must participate in the oral presentation. The group should research the product, record information, and accurately reference sources. The group is encouraged to use visual aids (audio, video, skits, samples, hand-outs, surveys, etc.). Each group will turn in a folder including: Group contract Group attendance log (be sure to include time and date of all meetings) Presentation outline Any presentational materials (hand-outs, etc.) Each group MEMBER will turn in an assessment paper (due one week after the presentation). The assessment paper should discuss the following: Group tasks, participation, and method of assigning tasks Name of product, reason for choosing it, and way of reaching consensus Selling strategies / needs targeted Any problems among group members Your overall feelings of the group project The paper should be 1-2 typed pages (double-spaced). The heading should be centered and begin one inch from the top.
