RaymondTureceivedhisPhDinchemicalengineeringfromtheUniversityof
California-SantaBarbarain2004,studyingthedesignandself-assemblyofpeptide
functionalizedmoleculararchitectures.Hecompletedapost-doctoralfellowshipin
2005atGeorgiaInstituteofTechnologyinvestigatingrheologicalpropertiesof
biologicallyfunctionalizedpolymer-basedmaterials.Currently,heisanassociate
professoratTheCityCollegeofTheCityUniversityofNewYork.Thefocusofhis
researchprogramisthesynthesisofsurface-activemolecularbuildingblocks,which
arederivedfromthecombinationofelementsthatdirectinterfacialassemblywith
componentsresponsibleforselectivebinding.Thismethodologyisprovingtobean
effectivetoolforengineeringcomplexcompositematerialsthatcontainstructures
withmultiplelength-scales.
