Our story this week is
“Scarcity”. This is an expository
text about how people can work
together to meet people’s needs.
Our comprehension focus will be
on facts and details. Our new
vocabulary words are:

High-Frequency Words:
Above, ago, enough, toward,
whole, word
This week our focus is
on singular and plural
nouns. Students should
know that a singular
noun is a word that
names one person, place,
animal, or thing. A plural
noun names more than
one person, place,
animal, or thing.

Math
We are finishing up Topic 5 this
week- Place Value to 100.
In this topic, we used models for
tens and ones, read and wrote
numbers and used symbols to
compare the numbers. We
worked on identifying 10 more
and 10 less than any number up
to 100. We also learned how to
identify numbers as even or odd.
This week we will begin Topic 6Mental Addition.
Science/Social Studies

Tuesday – “Sock It To Drugs!” Wear Crazy Socks- roll those pants up so everyone can see what you stand for.
Wed. -Put a cap on drugs! -Wear an interesting or favorite hat
Thurs. - Show your spirit- be drug free! Wear McBrayer or Rowan Co shirt.
Friday – “Stay In the Game, Play Drug Free” Wear Favorite Team Shirt
