This newsletter highlights some of our work over the last few months and provides an update on how our
service is developing. Since our last newsletter in August we have worked alongside the British Liver Trust
to promote the ‘Love Your Liver ‘ campaign and focused our attention on promoting healthy living within
OUHFT via joint promotions at the John Radcliffe Hospital with Sound Resource , Smokefreelife Oxfordshire and the Oxford Academic Health Science Network. For the later we focused on the Children's Flu
vaccine and the joint NHS England and Public Health England campaign ’Stay Well This Winter’. Thank
you for your continued support and interest in the service that Here for Health provides.

We would like to thank the Public Health Promotion Resource Unit in Oxford for the fantastic service it offers.
Without the support of this Unit the Here for Health Centre would look a lot more bear
and our ability to provide healthy living information and resources to our service users
would be restricted.
The Public Health Promotion Resource Unit, based in Blackbird Leys, offers an online resource catalogue for health professionals. It supplies free physical and digital health promotion materials to support staff working within the health promotion field throughout the county of Oxfordshire. The resources provided are evidence-based and the Unit offers a reliable means to regularly obtain health
promotion information. To find out how the Public Health Promotion Resource Unit can help you visit

Education—We are proud to have been included as a spoke placement for Dietetics Students at OUH. In partnership with Emma Millard (Neurosciences Dietitian and Student Training Lead) Here for Health provide health promotion education for Dietetics students and the opportunity for them to design and deliver a healthy living promotion stand. The first cohort of dietetic students focused on alcohol awareness; student feedback was positive,
stating “really interesting”, “enjoyed being creative”, “expanded on different skills and was able to apply these to
dietetics” and “very supportive”.
It was a pleasure to be invited by Elaine Watson (ICD Advanced Nurse Practitioner) to present at the ICD Patient
Education session. The event took place on 23rd September and was very well attended and received by the patients. Here for Health presented a workshop on Healthy living and how to structure healthy choices into your daily routine. We are already looking forward to presenting at the next one in 2016.
New partnerships—The OUHFT Cancer Outpatients Department have welcomed our Tuesday morning health and
wellbeing promotional stand. The reception from staff , patients and visitors has been very positive and supportive
with 130 individuals accessing information with regard to healthy living between 18/08/15 and 24/11/15.
