Here for Health, the innovative Health Improvement Advice Centre based in Blue Outpatients at the John Radcliffe Hospital has been open for 1 month. The door was opened on the 27/8/14 for staff, patients and visitors to drop in for healthy life‐
style advice and support with health behaviour change. As you can see from the pic‐
tures below the centre has seen some changes. Pre‐Opening 20/8/14 Open Day 27/8/14 1 Month Open 30/9/14 What happens when someone visits…...What, Why, How? On dropping into Here for Health an individual can browse the centre, and find information on a range of healthy living topics and services across Oxfordshire. The bar chart on page 2 shows the topics which service users have accessed the for centre during September. A service user meets either Áine Lyng (Health Promotion Specialist) or Emma Hagues (Health Promotion Practitioner) to discuss their health and lifestyle. Waist, height, weight, BMI, Diabetes risk score, blood pressure, physical activity, emotional well‐being and alcohol intake can be assessed. The Here for Health “What, Why, How” template is completed to es‐
tablish a health behaviour plan (Figure 1) and the individual is signposted to an appropriate service for further support. .
